Established in 1882, The Woodhorn Group is a highly diversified, yet interlinked operation with farming, dairy, waste management and commercial property interests.

At the heart of the Business is our 1,500 acre organic arable and dairy farm that stretches across the Chichester Plain and The South Downs. All our other business units have roots back to the original farming operation.

As a business, we’ve evolved and adapted to ensure we remain relevant and can continue to compete in highly contested markets. Today, our farming operation is supported by a range of symbiotic operations that have grown organically out of agriculture and our farm. Our business centre occupies a range of converted agricultural buildings and our waste management division processes green waste which creates the product for our topsoil and composting business. Our farming and dairy operation supply fresh organic milk and organic arable crops to fulfill a growing demand for high quality, welfare and environmentally led produce with clear provenance.

Commercial and retail brands under one umbrella

The Woodhorn Group is the entity which sits across our entire operation, providing a single familiar name for our commercial customers to engage with. So, whether we’re processing green waste for a local authority, or shipping them the composted material for use in parks and public spaces, they will interact with the same experienced team and the same trusted organisation.

Whilst the majority of our business is commercial in nature and transacted through ongoing contracts with large organisations, local authorities and land management companies; we also sell a range of products direct to the consumer, through two retail facing brands.

Earth Cycle

Earth Cycle is the retail brand for our topsoil and composting. Transacting primarily through our ecommerce website, domestic and contract landscaping customers can purchase a range of ready to use, high quality soils and mulches in bulk bags for use in domestic gardens. With rapid delivery, great prices and of course the very best quality, Earth Cycle has become a well known and trusted brand in the topsoil market selling thousands of bulk bags every year.

Woodhorn Farm

Woodhorn Farm launched in 2023 as our ‘at the farm gate’  milk vending brand. The majority of the 5,500 litres of fresh milk we collect each day is sold to our co-operative dairy partner, Organic Herd, but Woodhorn Farm gives members of the public the opportunity to purchase fresh, organic, whole milk directly from us. At present, Woodhorn Farm milk is sold via vending machines but with plans to expand into supplying the hospitality and leisure markets.
