Soils and Composting

All our topsoils are manufactured to NHBC (National House Building Council) and British Standards. We only use organic matter to create our topsoils, ensuring they are free from chemicals and contamination.

We manufacture over 50,000 tonnes of high quality soil each year following a careful process to ensure all our soils meet the highest quality standards including BS3882 and BS8601. Because we handle every aspect of the manufacturing process we can ensure it is graded to specific sizes and screened for asbestos particles, benzopyrene (carcinogenic), glass, brick, ceramics and heavy metals. It also means that we can develop very specific topsoil and rootzone blends subject to the intended use, managing the pH level, fertility and nutrients.

Resistance to drought and weed/moss invasion will also be enhanced. We’re happy to guarantee all of our topsoils and because they are manufactured to British and NHCB standards, we can also provide technical certificates for your development/planting.  Many ‘muck-away’ suppliers of topsoils are unable to offer the same quality of blends as we do or back up their product with the same guarantees around quality, contamination and chemical content.
