M5 Junction 8 – Improvements to the slip road and main carriageway at Strensham

The Project

The M5 is a key motorway in England linking the Midlands with the South West. Following a landslip, a Geotechnical Repair Scheme was commissioned to stabilise the embankment and install new drainage systems along the slip road and main carriageway.

The Brief

Working with CR Civil Engineering Ltd, Morgan Sindall Infrastructure and National Highways we supplied specialist topsoil to improve the structure and integrity of the embankment. Given the impact on transport and the need for the motorway to be partially closed for the work to take place, it was critical that all materials were delivered to site as quickly as possible. The combination of production requirements, haulage and demand were a challenge throughout the project, but with strong relationships between all parties, materials were delivered on time and on schedule.

The Timeline

Supply took place over a six week period between June and August 2024, and on some days as many as 20 tipper loads a day were being sent to site.

The Outcome

All deliveries were completed on time and our customer, CR Civil Engineering Ltd, won a Perfect Delivery certificate from Morgan Sindall Infrastructure.
